This piece from Fukuju Kiln artisan in Arita is carefully hand-painted using traditional sometsuke (blue and white porcelain) techniques. Inspired by the early Imari style, this piece uses Isubai glaze — an ash glaze made from native Kyushu trees — to recreate a smooth, softly textured porcelain surface. Though small in size, mamezara is perfect for serving small delicacies, condiments, or small trinkets.
